Beatles Ashram

I just spent about 6 weeks in Rishikesh, India studying yoga to become an instructor. My first day off i went with my friends to visit the ashram of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi who was founder of the Transcendental Meditation movement. This ashram is commonly known as "the Beatles Ashram" (Donavan and Mike Love also stayed there). We walked to the ashram from our yoga school. The ashram was completely run-down but still so beautiful. I could only imagine how ridiculously decadent it could have been if it were upkept . there was a clear view of the holy river from the meditation domes. some of the meditation domes were built on top of large buildings giving them an insane view of the himalayas. There were underground tunnels built for the beatles to beat the heat and smoke weed in. The area it's in is now a tiger reserve and I was hoping to see a tiger the entire time that we were there. If you look closely into these photos you will find a very sweaty picture of me, a baba chilling and jesus christ super star.
